4 jewelry events in February

Hi everyone! Every month I post about events, fully dedicated or connected with jewelry in Montreal. Here is the February dose.

1) (25 nov – 25 feb) 20th Anniversary / 20 Canadian Artists / 20 International Artists

Location: 4836 Boul St-Laurent, Montréal

For over 20 years Guyomarc’h has acted as curator, advisor and promoter. He is widely recognized for his taste and experience and is considered one of the foremost specialists in contemporary jewellery, both in Quebec and abroad.

For the occasion, the gallery will present a new exhibition entitled “20/20/20: 20th Anniversary, 20 Canadian Artists, 20 International Artists”, with a focus on the work of major artists who have collaborated with Noel Guyomarc’h for many years. In all, forty artists–-20 Canadians and 20 from abroad–-answered his call and will present new works of jewellery, some made especially for this anniversary.


2) (23 sep-9 apr) Fréquence bleu

Location: Bonsecours Market, 350 St-Paul Street East, Old Montreal

Fréquence bleu (Blue Spectrum) is an immersion in the colour blue and its many shades, as seen through clothing and accessories made from 1900 to the present day. From sky blue to navy blue, the colour’s wide spectrum never ceases to inspire fashion designers the world over, to the delight of generation after generation.

This exhibition features pieces by international designers such as Christian Dior, Balmain and Comme des garçons, as well as pieces by young graduates and current students of Montreal’s fashion, textile, jewellery and leather-working schools.


3) (27 feb – 19 mar) Exposition 1967 : exhibition at L’École de joaillerie de Montréal

L’École de joaillerie de Montréal (ÉJM) takes part in the 14th edition of La Nuit Blanche on March, 4th, 2017. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Expo’67 in Montreal, the organizers will bring to the center of the event projects inspired by it. l’École de joaillerie de Montréal also decided to organize an exhibition and a contest.

The exhibitionn 1967 will be presented at the Gallery of l’ÉJM from February, 27th till March, 19th, 2017.


4) (4 – 5 feb) Valentine Pop-Up Shop

Location: Espace POP, 5587 Avenue du Parc, Montreal

10.00 – 18.00

Free entrance
