Spring is coming to Montreal and it shows! People are coming out from hibernation, slow February and March are followed by quiet a busy April! I also have a very active month coming, I am going to “LOOT: MAD about jewelry” to New York this week, which will be followed by new studies at École de joaillerie and other interesting things. I will keep you informed! Meanwhile, here is my monthly list of jewelry events in April.

An exhibition featuring the work of the students in continuing education and the workshops will take place from April 21st to May 17th, 2017 at the gallery of the École de joaillerie de Montréal.
During the gala Friday April 21st 2017, five awards of excellence will be handed out:
- Continuing education, beginners’ level
- Continuing education, intermediate level
- Continuing education, advanced level
- Personal project: a project that is not part of our curriculum in the continuing education program, but created in our studios
- Specialized technique : piece made during a workshop taken at our school, between April 2016 and Marc 2017.

Fréquence bleu (Blue Spectrum) is an immersion in the colour blue and its many shades, as seen through clothing and accessories made from 1900 to the present day. From sky blue to navy blue, the colour’s wide spectrum never ceases to inspire fashion designers the world over, to the delight of generation after generation.
This exhibition features pieces by international designers such as Christian Dior, Balmain and Comme des garçons, as well as pieces by young graduates and current students of Montreal’s fashion, textile, jewellery and leather-working schools.

The Guild is featuring an exhibition celebrating 45 creative years of a famous jeweler Janis Kerman. The opening will take place at 6-8 pm on April 27th. The Retrospective book by Janis lwill be also launched that evening.

Galerie Noel Guyomarc’h will be presenting «A quiet unfolding of ideas: Pamela Ritchie». This new exhibition aims at being both a retrospective and a tribute to a more than 35 years career artist, Pamela Ritchie, who is attending the gallery’s cases for the second time. The gallery represents the artist since 2005. She is the recipient of the prestigious Saidye Bronfman Award 2017, the foremost distinction in excellence in Canadian contemporary craft, one of the Governor General’s Awards.
