6 jewelry events in Montreal in July

As anyone living in Quebec, I have a particularly sentimental attachment to summer. Like a little kitten, I want to go crazy, run and jump all around. Or, at least, go out, meet people, and dress up! To dress up – a simple pleasure, available to us here 5 months in a year when we don’t need to hide everything under 25 layers of Canada Goose.

Here is my list of jewelry events in July, where you can find some pieces created locally in Montreal or simply to have fun, surrounded by beautiful things.

1. (July 1) Marché de nuit Mile X Night Market

Where: Alexandraplatz Bar, 6731 rue de l’Esplanade

What: The Night Market is a vibrant block party in Mile-X borough that brings together various local vendors, talented DJs, and popular food trucks from around town. The annual event runs from May to September, one Saturday every month and is located in front of Bar Alexandraplatz at 6731 Avenue de L’Esplanade.

2. (July 8) Grand Opening of the Boutique Signé Local

Where: Quartier DIX30

What: The opening of the boutique of the local handmade goods.

3. (July 21-23) Genuine Goods Summer Market

Where: Espace POP, 5587 Ave. du Parc

What: Local handmade vendors. Jewelry, body care, ceramics, art and more! Friday opening party with live DJ and wine.

4. (July 7-9) Marché des Possibles

Where: 5635 rue St.Dominique

What: All sorts of fun with local artisanal products and activities for all family.

5. (May 19 – August 18) Gabrielle Desmarais at Dominic Dufour

Where: 150, Chemin de la Grande-Côte, Rosemère

What: This is an exhibition of pieces by Gabrielle Desmarais, a jeweler from Montreal, well-known outside Quebec.

6.  (July) Amazonia. The Shaman and the Mind of the Forest

Where: Pointe-à-Callière, 350 Place Royale
Old Montréal (Québec)

What: Not exactly the jewelry event. But among the 500 exceptional objects from the collections of the Musée d’ethnographie de Genève (MEG) and the Royal Museums of Art and History, Brussels there are some very interesting pieces.
