Statement cage earrings || Copper, steel, powdercoat
These large cage earrings have a feather form and gold tips.
They start as recuperated copper electric wire. The wire is skinned, cleaned, drawn down to various sizes, formed, and soldered. The colour is applied using powdercoating.
A fine powder is shot onto a charged piece, it is then cured in an oven creating a layer of durable plastic on the metal.
These earrings are heavily inspired by Victorian style jewellery. They are large but very light for their size.
Length: 9cm (3.5 inches)
