This November, LOFT.bijoux unveils The Moment After Impact — a contemporary love ring recrafted from an ancient Greek arrowhead dating to 300 BCE. A symbol once forged for war, now disarmed with emeralds, becomes an emblem of renewal, beauty, and enduring love. The piece will debut at Thomsen Gallery during New York City Jewelry Week as part of ReCrafted: The Upcycled Jewellery Story, curated by London-based jewelry expert Natasha Kietiene.
The Moment After Impact captures the instant when destruction meets transformation. Set with vivid emeralds and diamonds, the arrowhead — once designed to kill — now blooms as a garden of gemstones. “Its meaning is reclaimed,” says LOFT.bijoux founder and jewelry designer Olga Leclair.
“Emeralds bloom where violence once struck. For me, recrafting means more than reuse — it is the act of turning fragments of the past into lasting symbols of love. No matter what the past held, we can still rediscover love and beauty within it for the future.”
The ring is one of seven works selected from around the world for ReCrafted, an exhibition that challenges conventional notions of luxury and legacy. The exhibition examines how designers breathe new life into forgotten forms, reimagining history through craftsmanship, sustainability, and storytelling – all expressed through high-end fine jewelry.
